Good Shepherd is pleased to offer a reading camp for our students. We
will have many creative and exciting projects and activities to help
your student improve reading while enjoying their summertime. Studies
show that some reading gains achieved throughout the year can be lost
over the long summer. We want to help your child maintain and improve
their reading. According to The National Reading Panel report (2006),
there are five areas that improve reading and comprehension. This intensive
reading camp will include exercises in all five areas: phonemic awareness,
phonics, fluency, vocabulary, reading and writing skills. Hands on, creative
strategies will be used to help your student learn and enjoy learning.
