Mrs. Karen Gettel-Bell – Music and Strings

   Karen Bell has been teaching music classes to our kindergarten through eighth grade students at the Good Shepherd Day School since 2001. She also offers private violin and cello lessons. Mrs. Bell comes to us from Rutland Northeast Public Schools in Chittenden, Vermont. In Chittenden, Mrs. Bell served as the music teacher at the Barstow Memorial School for more than twenty years. During that time, she taught general music, music lessons, string ensemble, as well as band and chorus. Mrs. Bell holds a Bachelor of Music Performance in Violin from Oberlin Conservatory, a Master of Music Education and a Master of Fine Arts in Performance Violin from the University of Iowa. She also has a Kindermusik certification. Mrs. Bell plays with the Charlotte and Venice Symphonies. She tours Europe every summer with the Santa Monica Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra.
