Dear Families,
We are very excited that you are looking into letting your child(ren)
join us that the GSDS Adventure Camp Summer 2007! School will be coming
to an end soon and young children in the area need a program that is
both educational and fun during the summer.
Adventure Camp 2007 is designed to empower children to become confident,
successful, lifelong learners and secure, caring people. We want our
campers to enjoy learning about themselves, others, and the world around
them.
Some of the weekly themes include “All About Me,” “Yummy
Tummy: Cooking & Food,” “Art Smart,” “Mad
Scientists,” and “Carnival Week” just to name a few.
Within each weekly theme there will be themed days that cover different
subjects. We will be having guest speakers, art projects, productions,
fun in the sun days, and so much more!
Please keep in mind that this is just a brief look at the program. More
specific questions are always welcome. Please call (941)639-5454 with
these questions.
We look forward to getting to know you and your child(ren)!

Adventure Camp 2007
Remember secret handshakes and silly songs that you used to have when
you went to summer camp? How about water days and guest speakers
that you woke up early for because you were so excited? Here is just
a short list of examples that we call Core Elements. Core elements
are the essential pieces that build the framework for our program.
Some of core elements include: Campers Creed, Heart Principles, Reflection,
Super Camper, Star Camper, and Journal Time.
Campers Creed – Our guide for everyone to have an equal opportunity
in everything we do at camp.
H.E.A.R.T. – Honesty, Excellence, Accountability, Respect, Teamwork.
These are our life values.
Reflection – Time we spend listening to the campers talk about
their day.
Super Camper – The chance that the campers have to boast on how
great their fellow campers are.
Star Camper – Time a selected camper has to let others know all
about themselves.
Journal Time – Time campers have to write or draw pictures of
what they did and how they felt that day.
